High Blean dates back to the 17th century when it was originally a farmhouse. It is situated in the heart of Raydale overlooking Semerwater. The area is ideal for ramblers and cyclists and anyone who wants to enjoy peaceful, relaxing surroundings. Sailing, canoeing and fishing are all permitted on Semerwater Lake and the surrounding villages offer numerous pubs and shops.

Accommodation: The accommodation comprises a twin bedded room and double/family bedroom, both with en suites. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, television and hairdryer. In addition to the guests’ dining room with large inglenook fireplace there is a guest lounge with log burning stove for those chilly evenings. Evening meals are optional and packed lunches are available on request. Parking is available and bicycles can be locked away securely. We accept dogs subject to prior arrangement.

Local Area: Two miles away, the village of Bainbridge dates back to Roman times and the old Roman Road is popular with walkers. It has a very attractive village green where stocks can still be seen, local shop, butchers, children’s playground and a pub. Hawes is the home of the world famous Wensleydale Cheese where you can see the cheese being made and have the opportunity to taste the cheese before you buy.
