The City of York is full of history, including the truly magnificent York Minster, great attractions and superb activities.

North of the city, and within a short drive of all our holiday lodges, the Vale of York's gently rolling countryside is the backdrop to traditional market towns like Thirsk - home to the popular 'World of James Herriot'. Make time to visit Castle Howard, of TV's 'Brideshead Revisited' fame, and Eden Camp for an evocative insight into civilian life during the Second World War. At Pickering, you can board the North York Moors Steam Railway for a trip across the ‘Heartbeat' moorlands.
