Location: The attractive town of Middleham is in beautiful Wensleydale and has a wealth of history, much of it tied to the Norman castle which dates back to 1190 and has a keep that is only surpassed in size by the Tower of London. Middleham is also well known for its racehorses and it is a marvellous sight to see them as they make their way to the gallops every morning. The ancient market square is cobbled and there are a variety of shops and eateries clustered around it. Leyburn is just two and a half miles away for more shops or why not take the chance to discover The Forbidden Corner - a unique maze of tunnels and chambers. This area makes a fabulous base to explore this stunning region.
