Details: Built at the end of the 18th century as a coaching inn the Blue Lion is located in Wensleydale, one of North Yorkshire’s most beautiful dales. It is a perfect base from which to explore this breathtaking countryside. This is excellent walking country with selection of walks right on the doorstep.

The area is full of history with Middleham and Richmond castles, Jervaulx and Fountains abbeys and Castle Bolton close by. The spa towns of Ripon and Harrogate with their selection of quality shops are only 30 minutes away and the beautiful City of York also makes am excellent day out. Other local activities include river fly fishing, shooting, tennis, golf, pony-trekking and clay-pigeon shooting. This is also horse-racing country and the racecourses of Catterick, Ripon, Wetherby, Thirsk and York are all within easy reach.
