The Old Board Inn is located in the market town of Hawes, Upper Wensleydale, in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Perfect for a short relaxing break or as a base for exploring the many attractions within the National Park. We offer En-suite and budget accommodation.
Hawes:At the heart of the Yorkshire Dales the market town of Hawes can be found. Hawes has many, pubs and cafes as well alternative art and craft shops. It also has its own National Park Centre providing information on Northern section of the Yorkshire Dales. Hawes is most famous for producing Wensleydale Cheese (Wallace & Grommet fame) from local Wensleydale Cows. The Rope works and the Dales Countryside museum are also well worth a visit.
Accommodation: The Board has 4 double and 1 single rooms located on the first floor. All of which have been or are in the process of being completely renovated over the winter period. You can specify which room you would like to book and a short description of each room is shown below. Photos of all rooms will be available shortly.
Room 1. This is a double en-suite that can also be made up as a twin room. It is situated at the rear of the pub. At present it is in its original state and available for bookings. Work will commence on this room on March 10th. When completed it will have been decorated throughout including the en-suite, an Oak beam ceiling will have been fitted and new carpets laid. The...
room will have a hand made built in wardrobe and cupboards and a dressing table.
Room 2. This is a large double room situated at the front of the pub with 2 large windows and a high ceiling. It has been completely renovated. There is a fireplace with a gas fire. The en-suite is all brand new and this room has a 2-seater settee. This room will not be available until early May.
Room 3. This is a small single room. At present there are no facilities apart from a television and beverages. It is however linked to room 4 by an internal door so can be booked in conjunction with room 4 for a party of three, allowing the occupant of the single room to share the en-suite of room 4. It could also be used for a child to sleep in. Reduced rates apply to children occupying this room.
Room 4. This is a good-sized room with 2 large windows and a high ceiling situated at the front of the pub. It can be let as a twin or a double. It has been completely decorated throughout and has new carpets. The room has a hand made built in wardrobe and cupboards and a dressing table.
Room 5. This is a double room situated at the rear of the pub. It has an oak beamed ceiling and new carpets. The en-suite has a bath and also has a pumped shower over the bath. The room has a hand made built in wardrobe and cupboards and a dressing table.
Dining: The dining room has been completely refurbished and has been turned into a snug. There are oak beams in the ceiling. The floor is now the original floorboards and a Victorian coal fireplace has been fitted.
General Info: It is my aim that you feel at home at the Board and not an imposition as I have felt when staying at some establishments. There is no set time for breakfast I will do it for a time that suits you. Breakfast can be taken in your room. Meals are served all day. If you want a sandwich at night just ask. WIFI is available through out the pub, if you do not have a laptop you can borrow mine. Washing and drying facilities are available for a small fee just to cover the cost. Pets are welcome with well behaved owners.
