The dales provide vistas of the landscape that continues for miles and due to its status as a National Park; the area also boasts an impressive array of wildlife for those looking for an elusive action shot. Famous photographer, JB Smithson took many images of the dales and had studios in Leyburn, Hawes and Aysgarth during the early 20th century.
