Wetherby

Wetherby is an ancient market town which stands on the River Wharfe in West Yorkshire on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Surrounded by wonderful countryside it is an ideal place from which to visit the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.

The Great North Road (now the A1), which connects London to Edinburgh has its midway point at Wetherby and the town is a stopping off point for many travellers. There are still many surviving coach houses which, together with the impressive Wetherby Bridge are testimony to the town's historical role as a transport link.
