Brownlee Brothers open Brownies Bakery in the Dales.

After enjoying the sweet taste of success at the Olympic Games our very own Olympic legends the Brownlee brothers have recently joined forces with Love Brownies to boost local business in the Dales.

The Brownlee Foundation charity was set up by brothers Alistair and Jonny following their Olympic Triathlon success, in a bid to promote the importance of health and fitness to youngsters. The brothers who hail from Bramhope turned out to cut the ribbon and officially open their brand new bakery in Howgill which they hope will boost local business whilst encouraging and promoting a more active lifestyle to locals. The Brownie Barn near Appletreewick is one of four new businesses recently opened by Love Brownies, an Ilkley based company, as part of their ongoing expansion plans. The support and partnership forged with The Brownlee Foundation charity for this converted barn is sure to attract attention and put them on the right track to success.

Promoting sport and a more active lifestyle is paramount to the health and wellbeing of future generations and who better than Yorkshires own sporting heroes the Brownlees to encourage and spotlight opportunities that the foundation has to offer. The Brownlee Foundation supports the development of sport coaches and teachers as well as offering positive sporting and fun experiences through its programme of events in schools. Although aimed at primary school children it doesn't stop there, triathlon based events run for all ages, including colleges and sports centres throughout the country.
