Cononley Accommodation

Positioned in Airedale and just a few miles south of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the delightful village of Cononley. Much of the village dates back to the 17th century and many of the stone built houses are still in use today. There are a couple of traditional pubs serving real ale and home cooked food as well as an independent village store. The area around Cononley is a great place for walkers, cyclists and horse riding enthusiasts. Attractions nearby include the historic market town of Skipton with its many interesting shops, places to eat and an abundance of inns and pubs. The castle at Skipton is one of the best preserved in the country and is over 900 years old and well worth a visit, or take a relaxing ride on the Skipton canal and watch the world pass slowly by. The pretty village of Malham is only a short drive away and is worth visiting to marvel at, and even climb up the stunning Malham Cove, a curved limestone cliff over 80 metres high. Nearby Hesketh Farm Park at Bolton Abbey is a great favourite with children as they can view and feed the animals there. Just a few miles away is the lovely town of Howarth where the Bronte Parsonage Museum can be visited which was the home of the famous authors. Also in the area is the Yorkshire Dale Mining Museum at Earby. The museum hosts a huge range of exhibits covering the mining of lead and other materials in the Yorkshire Dales.
