Gargrave Accommodation

The tiny village of Gargrave lies on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, close to the market town of Skipton. Surrounded by glorious countryside and encompassing the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, it is a delightful place to visit and discover all the interesting sites of the area. For walkers, cyclists and nature lovers there are some breathtaking paths out from the village including the Pennine Way which attracts many visitors all year round. The excellent road and rail links to and from Gargrave allow easy access, opening up a vast area of breathtaking Yorkshire countryside to explore. The River Aire runs through the village and offers some good fishing and very pleasant riverside walks. Just at the southern edge of the village where the church now stands, historians and heritage lovers can visit the unearthed remains of a Roman villa at Kirk Sink. An ideal location for a short break or a family holiday there is a wide choice of accommodation around to suit all budgets and preferences. The traditional village pub serves cask ales and hearty food and the village hall has a varied programme of community events throughout the year. There is a good local bus service including routes to Skipton and Leeds where there is an abundance of shops, markets and restaurants as well as many galleries and museums to visit. There are numerous festivals and country fairs in and around the area throughout the summer months, which are also well worth seeking out if you are planning a trip.
