Full Description: Appletreewick is a picturesque village located at the end of Skyredale near to Lower Wharfedale at the foot of the towering crags known as Simon’s seat.

Attractions and places of interest nearby include the pretty village of Burnsall, Barden Tower, Bolton Abbey, Parceval hall, Barden Bridge and Trollers Gill and Trollerdale.

At one end of the village is the little chapel, originally two cottages, where Sir William Craven was born. Just like Dick Wittington, Craven rose through the ranks of industry and commerce to be Lord Mayor of London. Later he became a benefactor to his original birthplace. Furniture in the chapel carries the world famous ‘Mouseman’ motif of Thomas Kilburn.
