Full Description: Austwick is a quaint and picturesque village located between Clapham and Settle in beautiful and scenic surroundings in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A very typical Yorkshire Dales village, largely unspoilt with a timeless and delightful ambiance.

The breathtakingly spectacular surrounding countryside offers a superb base for cycling, walking or simply relaxing. The Yorkshire Dales backdrop is just breathtaking, with some of the most rugged and dramatic limestone geography in Europe, including two caves that are well worth a visit.

This backdrop of limestone scenery which tracks the ‘Craven Fault’ attracts geologists, walkers and cavers from all over the world. The ‘ Norber Erratics’, formed at the end of the last ice age into a group of unusual boulders by the Crummackdale Glacier is of particular interest to visitors. The lunar like limestone plateau at Moughton also attracts great interest.

Austwick is just of to the north of the A65 between Clapham and Settle, and with a selection of accommodation, pubs and eateries in the area, together with numerous spectacular walks and interesting places to visit makes an ideal base from which to explore the region.
