Full Description:
Aysgarth is a quaint dales village set into the stunning and world famous Wensleydale, and complete with a village green with adjacent tea room/gift shop.

At one end of the green is a fascinating and unusual Edwardian Rockery garden which includes an alpine plants and a waterfall - an excellent and tranquil setting for a few tranquil moments.

Aysgarth Falls are located in a stunning wooded gorge. There are three falls in total, the largest is the ‘Upper Fall’ and also include the ‘Middle Fall’ and ‘Lower Falls’. There is no doubt that they are a spectacular sight all year round and well worth including on any itinerary. They are particularly stunning in the winter months and after heavy rain, when the River Ure gushes with tremendous force for over half a mile through the exceptional setting.

Around the falls are numerous beautiful well marked walks through the woodland and in spring and summer deer and squirrels can be seen and the array of wild flowers is a sight to behold. Located at the falls is The Yorkshire Dales National Park Visitor Centre, which provides an abundance of local information and offers a café and gift shop. Near to the Upper Fall is a museum and café/gift shop located in the old mill buildings adjacent to the bridge.
