The amazing Farfield Mill Arts and Heritage Centre houses an extensive group of art studios and craft galleries as well as a cafe and a retail shop. A number of artists work on site and produce a wonderful collection of traditionally made items for sale.

Four floors of inspiration await in this vibrant arts and heritage centre housed in a restored Victorian woollen mill.

Nestling between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales Farfield Mill opened its doors in April 2001 to an exciting new life as an Arts and Heritage Centre. This followed extensive refurbishment after Farfield ceased production as a woollen mill which spanned 156 years, 1836 – 1992. Another milestone was achieved at Easter 2004 when Level 4 opened.

Located on four levels, with over 20 artists working in open studios, four large galleries, changing exhibition programme, working Victorian looms (working most days), craft shop and excellent home made food in cafe.

Weavers Cafe

You'll find a warm welcome at Weavers, serving a selection of excellent dishes ranging from home-made cakes and scones, to delicious light lunches, plus Farrer's freshly-ground, Westmorland Blend coffee and Lakeland Blend tea. Our food is freshly prepared and cooked each day by our excellent team of cooks.

Retail Gallery

Our retail gallery space now spans two floors of this historic building, within which we offer a range of high-quality art and craft items for sale, from artists working in the north.
