Full Description:
Gargrave is a quaint village with a blend of old and new buildings, located on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The village is located on the banks of the River Aire which flows serenely through the village green, past the mature sycamore trees. The green is a safe place for family picnics where children can play, and the adults can watch the many dippers and wagtails searching for food in the river bed. There is a splendid stone bridge to cross the river, but many visitors prefer to at cross via the ‘Butter tub’ stepping stones which are available at two locations on the river.

On the south side of the river is the village church, whose large square steeple can be seen poking above the many surrounding trees. The main part of the village lies on the north bank, with whitewashed cottages, often covered in Ivy and many beautiful gardens.

The village is in a beautiful location and well worth inclusion on any holiday or visit itinerary.
