Full Description: The spa town of Harrogate is located in North Yorkshire close to both the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors national Parks. It is famous for floral displays in the Valley Gardens, and elegant spa buildings including; the Mercer Art Gallery, the Royal Baths and the Royal Pump House.

Harrogate is also a world famous conference and exhibition centre which attracts many international visitors to The Harrogate International Centre, which results in a very cosmopolitan and modern ambience. Harrogate also boasts a vast array of top class restaurants, shops, pubs, nightclubs, theatres, cinemas and accommodation. It also home to the world famous ‘Betty’s Tea Room’, where tea and scones is an art form.

The Sun Pavilion, now fully restored and re-opened by the Queen makes an excellent setting for tea dances, functions and a variety of live entertainment. There are also tennis courts, a children’s playground, model boating, crazy golf and the Northern Horticultural Societies headquarters ‘Harlow Carr Botanical Gardens.

Harrogate’s cosmopolitan feel is partly due to the extensive selection of arts and craft shops, boutiques and designer outlets which contrast and compliment the well known major high street names. The town is home to numerous antique and curiosity shops and is known as the ‘antiques centre of northern England’ and visiting them is a day out in its self!

Harrogate has a well established tradition for colourful street entertainment, and each summer the town hosts the Harrogate International Festival. The opening night parade and Fiesta all staged in the Valley Gardens is a sight to behold and well worth a visit.

The itinerary always includes a string of top class artists and performers plus provides a stage for up and coming talent.

Of course Harrogate is also famous for its health and fitness facilities. These include a new Hydro complex, swimming baths, spas, fitness studios, bowling alley and golf at Crimple Valley and Rudding Park.
