Details for Keighley Bus Museum
Keighley Bus Museum houses a great collection of buses at its Riverside Depot near Keighley. The vintage vehicles are a delight for transport enthusiasts. The museum is open at weekends and twice a week in the evenings. Vehicles can be hired for special events.
The Keighley Bus Museum Trust started off rather small with only fourteen buses in the collection as the private owners realised you can't really park a bus on the driveway and the possibility of damage and the weather would do their pride and joy no good at all so that is how the Museum came into being.
Nowadays the collection is slightly larger with about sixty buses and many of these are actually owned by the Trust or on loan to it. There are some buses here that are actually quite famous, what about the last trolley bus in the UK or the oldest double decker trolley bus in the whole wide world, beat that if you can.
Throughout the course of the year, the busses actually go on tour around the country so if Keighley is not on your doorstep, contact the Trust to see where they will be appearing and if they come to your town, do go and support the Trust and all the work they do to keep these old ladies of the road still running.
Another way you can support the Trust is to hire one of their buses for special occasion, weddings for transporting your guests from the ceremony to the reception, people just love to see old buses come by, they smile and wave and it's a great feeling when you are on board. Or what about becoming a member yourself, the fee is cheap and the benefits are big to everyone.
So come and enjoy the ride at Keighley Bus Museum.
