The Yorkshire Dales National Park Tourist Information

Full Description: Keighley is located in the Aire Valley in West Yorkshire, close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park with both the city of Bradford and Bingley close by.

Visitors to Keighley have easy access to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, either directly north via the Aire Valley to Skipton, a thriving and historic market town and often referred to as ‘Gateway to the Dales’, or north east to Silsden, Rombalds Moor Ilkley and Addingham.

Keighley has a rich industrial heritage and boasts an excellent bus and railway museum. Perhaps best known is the beautifully restored ‘Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway’. Restored vintage steam trains depart from Keighley on a regular basis and travel along the beautiful Worth Valley through the villages of Haworth, Oakworth and Oxenhope, right into West Yorkshires ‘Bronte Country’, with spectacular views of the moors and the location for much of the filming of the well known feature film ‘The Railway Children’.

Other local places of interest include; Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley Bus Museum and East Riddlesden Hall.
