Details for Kiplin Hall & Tea Room

Kiplin Hall and its amazing architecture attracts visitors from all over the world. Some come to delight in the wonderful house and gardens, some to relax in the tea rooms and enjoy the local delicacies on offer and others come to fish the wonderful trout lake on the estate.

Near to Richmond you will find Kiplin Hall, which is a very impressive Victorian building and you are invited to come inside.

No it's okay no one lives there but you would think they do as indoors is furnished as if a family are still in occupation, and that is because the four families who did live at Kiplin Hall all have left either a piece of furniture or a painting, or something personnel and you can let your imagination visualise as to how the family would have lived here. Each room has a room steward who is more than happy to guide you thru the history of that particular room like the Travellers Bedroom and the World War II kitchen and bathroom.

There is much more to Kiplin Hall than the Hall itself, come and enjoy the various garden games, like Croquet and Giant Dominoes, kids love this, there are woodland trails to follow and a trail around the Hall itself. There is a child's play room where they can get dressed up, every little girl loves dressing up and play with the Victorian toys.

The gardens sadly were neglected once upon a time, but now restoration has begun and slowly but surely life not only in the form of vegetation is reappearing, so are the Peacocks, and look at the Rose Garden, its lovely.

Many exhibitions and events are held throughout the year such as the Plant, Book and Craft Fair, there has been Scottish dancing, poetry, so for the culture vultures amongst, this is one place not to miss.
