This superb still water fly fishing venue is located in the hills and moors above Masham, in Wensleydale. It is 105 acres and up to 100 feet deep in size and hence one of the larger waters in the area and set in an exposed position.

Leighton Reservoir is a reservoir which drains via the River Burn to the River Ure in North Yorkshire, England. It neighbours Roundhill Reservoir and is about 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Masham. It takes its name from the nearby village of Leighton. Water from the reservoir is used to compensate for abstraction from the River Ure. Although not in Nidderdale, the reservoir is within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

It offers outstanding fly fishing for quality rainbow and brown trout some of which which run quite large. Bank fishing only. Limited Parking for disabled anglers nearer the lake. Tickets are available from the fishing hut, with plenty of concessions - you will need to have the correct change with you so ring the office for current prices.
