Details for Tanfield Lodge Fly Fishing

Tanfield Lodge Fly Fishery is a former gravel pit located near the village of West Tanfield and close to Ripon in the Yorkshire Dales.This 11.5 acre gin clear lake is very deep in some places, and shelves to approx. 25- 30 feet in places and on certain sides is quite shallow.

There is a car park for approx. 20 cars, a toilet and a fishermans lodge complete with wood burning stove and veranda overlooking the lake. Disabled anglers can park right by the waters edge.

Tanfield Lodge is a very attractive location surrounded by beautiful coutryside, including woodland and rolling fields. You may even see the resident Osprey show you how to catch a fish and not release as it flies off with it into the distance.

This is a location for the discerning fly fisherman who enjoys fly fishing in a natural environment.
