Located on the picturesque Eastern side of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club offers exhilarating sailing and wind surfing amidst the most spectacular scenery in North Yorkshire.

The reservoir is owned by Yorkshire Water and is located high in the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Grimwith Reservoir is the largest inland sailing venue in Yorkshire (371 acres). We believe it's the best place to enjoy Sailing or Windsurfing in the area, and some say the North of England. Since the opening of our state of the art clubhouse in Autumn 2009 we also have arguably the best facilities in the North of England. Come and have a look - you'll want to be a part of it!

The origins of the club go back to the 1960s when a group of keen dinghy sailors from the Leeds and surrounding areas negotiated with the Leeds Corporation Water Authority to form a Club on Thruscross reservoir near Blubberhouses.

Access to the Reservoir is good, with a tarmac Water Authority road leading you from the B6265 to the reservoir.

Windsurfing: Grimwith is simply the best windsurfing venue in the area.
