Details for Craven Sailing Club

Craven Sailing Club in Skipton is based at Embsay Reservoir near Skipton. The 27 acres of the reservoir provides a great environment for learning to sail and for demanding but enjoyable racing.

The club welcomes members of all ages and abilities, expert or beginner, and has a wide variety of dinghies in the fleet, single and double handers, trapeze and asymetrics together with a number of windsurfers. Canoeists, kayakers and Stand Up Paddleboards also use the water.

It may not be like a life on the ocean wave but life on the water can be exhilarating, it's a different world on the water with many of nature's wildlife having their habitat on the water, you will see birds and insects you won't see in down town suburbia. If you want a break from sailing then a walk around the reservoir will see plenty of wildlife and then back at the c lubhouse you can have a refreshing hot drink.

There are plenty of opportunities for members to race in the handicap fleet on Tuesdays and Sundays or take place in one (or all!) of the training and social sailing events on Friday evenings throughout the summer months. The rest of the time the water is available to members for general sailing activities including organised and informal training, and family fun events throughout the year.

If you are looking for a friendly and active sailing club for yourself or the family then Craven Sailing Club could be just the place for you. Take a look around our web pages(via the contact tab below), call in at the club to meet some of the members or drop us an email using the contact form below, but most of all - Happy Sailing!
